Pip

Pip keeps running ahead of everyone else, worried they'll leave him behind if he slows down

Pip does not move through the world so much as accidentally outrun it.

He is always in motion. Always slightly ahead. Always convinced that if he stops for even a moment, everything will vanish behind him.

This is not because anything has ever given him reason to believe this.

It just feels true.

Pip is constantly beginning tasks he does not finish, helping in ways that create new problems, and apologising for things that are not technically his fault but emotionally feel like they might be.

He tries very hard.

Possibly too hard.

Despite this, Pip is often the first to arrive when something is needed. Not because he planned it — but because he was already running in that direction anyway.

He doesn’t mean to cause chaos.

He just arrives with it.

Known Behaviours

  • Runs everywhere at slightly excessive speed

  • Frequently loses track of what he was doing mid-action

  • Attempts to help before fully understanding the situation

  • Knocks things over while trying to fix them

  • Gets emotionally attached to people very quickly

  • Constantly checks if others are still nearby

  • Believes slowing down = being left behind

Known Associates

Recent Sightings

  • Seen running in a straight line for emotional reasons

  • Attempted to carry too many things at once and apologized to gravity

  • Arrived early to a place he did not need to be yet

  • Briefly helped someone, then disappeared at speed

  • Collided gently with a bench while “thinking loudly”

Notes from Observers

Pip is often described as:

  • “a kind panic in motion”

  • “trying his best at all times”

  • “emotionally fast but deeply caring”

Despite the chaos, he is widely considered:

One of the most reliably present creatures when it actually matters.

Winston tries to “organise” Pip. Pip immediately forgets the organisation.

Hazel gives Pip gifts; Pip almost always drops them, then feels deeply guilty about it.

Olive gently reminds Pip that he is allowed to stop sometimes. Pip does not fully believe her, but appreciates it.

They understand each other’s speed, but not each other’s direction.
